Responsibilities

As the Director, Field HR, you will serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to our field team and stores while overseeing a wide range of human resources responsibilities that drive organizational success. You will shape policies, programs, and culture that attracts and retains top talent, supports growth, and ensures associates feel engaged and supported. Your leadership will directly influence employee satisfaction and the customer experience in our stores.

  • Lead field HR Managers and oversee employee relations, succession planning, and human resources support of our stores and field leadership
  • Partner with leaders to champion a culture of inclusion, engagement, and accountability to create a positive and empowering work environment
  • Oversee employee relations, including investigations, conflict resolution, performance management, disciplinary actions, and coaching HR Managers and field leaders through complex employment matters
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and maintain HR policies and procedures that reflect best practices
  • Partner closely with field leaders to address complex associate, operational, and organizational matters with timely guidance and practical support
  • Lead the annual performance management process, including appraisals, succession planning, and identification of training and development needs
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team while driving operational excellence across all HR functions
  • Track and report HR metrics to inform decision-making and measure program effectiveness
  • Lead ad hoc projects that advance HR capabilities and organizational objectives

Work Location

This is a fully remote position, with responsibilities that require strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a virtual work environment. Candidates must be located in the Central or Eastern time zones.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles
  • Multi-unit retail experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP) a plus
  • Deep understanding of employment law, compliance requirements, and HR best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and influence senior leadership on complex issues
  • Proven success in building strong business partnerships and driving cross-functional collaboration
  • Expertise in change management and navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Broad HR experience across multiple disciplines, including organizational development, talent management, employee relations, and workforce planning
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and executive presentation skills
  • Strong project management and leadership capabilities with a record of delivering results
  • Experience leveraging HR analytics and technology to inform strategy and improve processes
  • Occasional travel is required, including the ability to travel on short notice

Pay

CA Pay Range is $160,000 to $180,000 annually.
