About the role
This req serves to support full-time entry level opportunities available within the Memphis BU beginning January 2026 through December 2026. Specific opportunities available will be directly related to active and ongoing work available in the Memphis, TN area as well as available remote project assignments throughout our region. Specific assignments of candidates hired will be finalized one month prior to anticipated start date.
Responsibilities
- Assist in obtaining and reviewing information and approvals for processing of shop drawings, product data, and samples and assist in communication of information across all levels of project team.
- Assist in managing other aspects of communication including submission and responses for Requests for Information (RFI’s).
- Assist in preparing estimates for changes in work including review of Change Order requests from subcontractors.
- Study contract drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure proper coordination and installation.
- Absorb maintenance and updates of contract documents, electronic web-based documents, and project logs.
- Distribute information required for construction to appropriate parties.
- Absorb Engineering to ensure materials and equipment are released for fabrication or manufacture in time to meet construction schedule.
- Absorb in preparation of final records for project including close-out documents, Operations/Maintenance (OM) Manuals, and other related documentation.
- Perform other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
Field Engineer
- Perform line and grade work for building layout and control as required.
- Absorb in the implementation of the site safety program as required and ensure subcontractor compliance with Turner safety - standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
- Absorb in the maintenance of contract documents and electronic web-based documents for field operations.
- Absorb in the preparation of Daily Construction Reports (DCR’s).
- Review all work as it is being placed to be sure it is accurate within accepted tolerances.
- Review contract drawings, specifications and shop drawings to ensure proper coordination and installation.
- Absorb in the preparation of project as-builts.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications for a Field Engineer
- Two years of college education from accredited degree program in Engineering, Construction or relevant education.
- Building construction, engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Must have good interpersonal skills, desire to learn, ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing, proficient with computer applications as required to perform responsibilities.
- A basic understanding of scheduling programs preferred.
Qualifications for an Engineering Assistant
- Two years of college education from accredited degree program in Engineering, Construction, or relevant education.
- Building construction, engineering, or equivalent experience, preferred.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team.
- Demonstrate initiative and desire to learn.
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
- Proficient with computer applications, data entry, and Microsoft suite of applications.
- A basic understanding of scheduling programs, desired.
