About the role
We're looking for a Field Engineer with a strong background in data center construction, fiber infrastructure, structured cabling, and material management to support one of the largest data center environments in the industry. This role focuses on 30-60-90 day material planning, identifying material shortages before they become project delays, and supplementing, substituting, and procuring resources to keep projects moving.
Responsibilities
- Manage and review 30-60-90 day material forecasts
- Analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs) and cable schedules to ensure project readiness
- Identify material shortages and proactively develop solutions
- Coordinate procurement and supplementation of fiber, cabling, and infrastructure materials
- Support large-scale data center and structured cabling projects
- Conduct site walks and assess material requirements
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and construction documentation
- Partner with project managers, subcontractors, procurement teams, and field operations
- Ensure installations align with project scope, quality standards, and customer requirements
- Provide technical support throughout project execution and closeout
Requirements
- Data center construction or infrastructure experience
- Strong understanding of fiber optic cable construction and fiber types
- Experience reading and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Material forecasting and planning experience
- Procurement and material coordination experience
- Structured cabling or telecommunications infrastructure background
- Ability to identify material gaps and develop alternative solutions

Pay
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.
Schedule
This is a 1st shift, fully onsite position in New Albany, OH. The role is a contract-to-hire opportunity.
