About the role

We're looking for a Field Engineer with a strong background in data center construction, fiber infrastructure, structured cabling, and material management to support one of the largest data center environments in the industry. This role focuses on 30-60-90 day material planning, identifying material shortages before they become project delays, and supplementing, substituting, and procuring resources to keep projects moving.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and review 30-60-90 day material forecasts
  • Analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs) and cable schedules to ensure project readiness
  • Identify material shortages and proactively develop solutions
  • Coordinate procurement and supplementation of fiber, cabling, and infrastructure materials
  • Support large-scale data center and structured cabling projects
  • Conduct site walks and assess material requirements
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, and construction documentation
  • Partner with project managers, subcontractors, procurement teams, and field operations
  • Ensure installations align with project scope, quality standards, and customer requirements
  • Provide technical support throughout project execution and closeout

Requirements

  • Data center construction or infrastructure experience
  • Strong understanding of fiber optic cable construction and fiber types
  • Experience reading and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Material forecasting and planning experience
  • Procurement and material coordination experience
  • Structured cabling or telecommunications infrastructure background
  • Ability to identify material gaps and develop alternative solutions

Pay

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.

Schedule

This is a 1st shift, fully onsite position in New Albany, OH. The role is a contract-to-hire opportunity.
