About the role
The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) position at Arrow Electronics is designed for individuals who have a strong technical background and a knack for business acumen. Our FAEs are expected to be self-starters who can identify, select, source, win, and support new business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Spend a majority of time in front of customers to influence component selection.
- Utilize advanced understanding of customer needs and technical leadership expertise to champion return on engineering investment.
- Manage supplier and customer expectations by building and developing relationships, keeping stakeholders updated on activities, plans, and progress.
- Identify key relationships among decision-makers within suppliers and customers.
- Grow your account base each quarter.
- Drive demand creation by maximizing Arrow content on designs.
- Understand customer needs and leverage Arrow’s engineering and design services resources to facilitate solutions for customers.
- Apply technical knowledge to influence designs utilizing solution selling, resources, and strategies.
- Identify solutions and resolutions to customer design needs and issues.
- Monitor your performance metrics throughout the quarter and take corrective action as necessary to ensure you are on track to meet or exceed them.
- Present technical seminars and workshops around your supplier lines.
- Provide frequent updates to the field sales team and be a motivating force around your supplier lines.
- Partner with the sales team across pre-and post-sales activities, providing technical support and consulting to promote demand creation.
- Conduct technical calibrations and research with sales and other Arrow departments and suppliers in support of the customer design.
- Champion return on engineering investment, design win priorities, initiatives, and promotions by obtaining buy-in and support from sales.
- Attend and actively participate in strategic branch meetings and QBRs.
- Develop and drive strategic technical plans by supplier line or customer solutions.
- Participate in ArrowEDGE initiatives through branch training and customer calls.
- Organize engineering customer events.
- Attend supplier trainings in person and via conference calls.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge and experience with system/board/engineering solutions and electronic components.
- Strong communication skills.
- Breadth of knowledge of electronic components.
- Experience with design engineering.
- Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions.
- Independent worker with a willingness to learn.
- Experience with RF design, high power (silicon carbide) design, analog experience, robotics, and AI is a plus!
Qualifications
- Typically requires a 4-year degree (engineering preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience.
- Work arrangement: Hybrid - 1 day in branch location (Dallas); 4 days remote/on the road.

Pay
Annual Hiring Range/Hourly Rate: $76,600.00 - $150,700.00
