About the role

In this field-based role covering the central territory, you will offer product expertise, application knowledge, and support for Account Managers and customers at every stage of the sales process. Responsibilities include product demonstrations, trials, presentations, and trainings that directly drive revenue and product adoption. The ideal candidate will reside in either Houston, Denver, or Chicago.

Responsibilities

  • Support the sales organization of existing products through product presentations, demonstrations, and application studies.
  • Collaborate with product management on new products through beta site testing and demonstrations.
  • Be responsible for the assigned product line to support sales target achievement in the Central Region.
  • Support sales in the customer process and URS analysis; generate application trials to help design optimized products aligned with application requirements.
  • Provide proactive application support, answer inquiries, and resolve implementation problems in the field for customers.
  • Support the quality department in the quality complaint process by troubleshooting and analyzing customer processes for better investigation and resolution.
  • Collect, compile, verify, and analyze data on the assigned product line performance and customer feedback to identify product features needing improvement.
  • Report on competitors' products and feedback to application specialist management and product management.
  • Provide basic product training to internal sales and dealers; run external customer workshops and seminars.
  • Conduct trials and demos to achieve intended results; create trial reports for product management and sales teams.
  • Collaborate with interfaces to define the scope and acceptance criteria of trials and build professional trial reports.
  • Travel overnight more than 50% of the time, as this role is heavily focused on external customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in technical sales, application support, or pre-sales in a scientific or technical environment.
  • Proven experience in a similar position and industry is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with related products, laboratory processes, and equipment.
  • Strong learning ability and expert knowledge base in this area.
  • Ability to effectively interface with product, project, and division management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong customer orientation.
  • Proven software skills, e.g., Microsoft Office.
