Join us in our journey to becoming the #1 FPGA company. As a Field Applications Engineer (FAE), you will drive the adoption of Altera FPGA-based solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions to key customer accounts.
Responsibilities
- Drive FPGA adoption by identifying, influencing, and enabling the use of Altera FPGA-based solutions at key customer accounts.
- Collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team, including Field Sales Engineers, other FAEs, Factory Applications Engineers, Product Marketing, and Business Development.
- Build and cultivate strong relationships with customer engineering teams to identify, develop, and expand new opportunities within assigned accounts.
- Develop deep expertise in the FPGA product portfolio to drive sales in established product lines and seed growth in emerging markets.
- Articulate the value proposition of Altera FPGAs, demonstrating how they provide optimal solutions for specific customer applications.
- Assist customers with architecture definition, solution evaluation, design, and implementation of product requirements using FPGAs, IP, and development tools.
- Develop and deliver compelling product demonstrations and participate in on-site customer visits to assist with product design and reviews.
- Ensure customer requirements are met throughout the design process and facilitate rapid resolution of technical issues to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Analyze data to diagnose problems, reproduce errors, and resolve or escalate customer issues effectively.
- Provide timely feedback to manufacturing and product teams regarding product issues, future requirements, and market trends to ensure Altera remains responsive and proactive.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in hardware engineering.
- Experience in FPGA, ASIC, and/or digital design.
- Experience with FPGA development tools (e.g., Quartus, Vivado).
- Experience with VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog, OpenCL, or high-level synthesis tools (HLS).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a related electrical/electronic field.
Skills
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
- Post Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in technical sales, applications, technical marketing, or technical product marketing.
- Additional industry experience in areas such as embedded SoC design, ASIC, ASSP, CPU, microcontrollers, microprocessor architecture, ARM-based processor solutions, board-level design, DSP, or signal integrity.
Pay
The compensation range for this sales role is $134.8K - $195.1K USD, including salary and incentives. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, and trainings.
