Fiberglass Technician 1

Responsibilities

• Hand laminating, operating a chopper gun, and rolling out fiberglass materials.
• Vacuum forming and bonding plastics such as ABS, Kydex, polycarbonate, and plexiglass.
• Grinding fiberglass with power hand tools both in‑shop and on rides.
• Removing and repairing various materials and surfaces, including installing seatbelts and changing upholstery.
• Fabricating pans from polyester resin and urethane foam.

Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to prepare a pattern and pull a tool or part.
• Ability to assemble and install fabricated pans.
• Basic knowledge of plastic materials, adhesives, and fasteners.
• Four years of experience in fiberglass assembly and polyester resin hand laminating.
• Good mechanical skills.
• Full availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Experience Levels

• Level 1 – Applies general skills and some experience.
• Level 2 – Applies skills and special knowledge with typically 3+ years of experience.
• Level 3 – Applies full specialized skills and knowledge with 5+ years of experience.
• Level 4 – Applies expert‑level knowledge and skills with 7+ years of experience.
