Responsibilities
- Prosecuting felony domestic violence cases that include, but are not limited to, Attempted Murder, Stalking, Assault, Arson, Burglary and Criminal Contempt.
- Representing the District Attorney at Supreme Court arraignments, pre-trial hearings, and bench and jury trials.
- Engaging in motion practice and complying with discovery obligations.
- Negotiating dispositions.
Qualifications
- An interested applicant must possess a J.D. degree, be an active member of the New York State bar in good standing and have at least 3 years of experience as a prosecutor.
- Preferred applicants should also have:
- Experience working with victims of domestic violence.
- Substantial trial experience.
- Familiarity with the rules of evidence, including forfeiture by wrongdoing and hearsay exceptions.
- Excellent case-management skills and experience handling a heavy caseload.
Pay
Salary will be commensurate with experience, ranging from $107,000 to $128,000.
