Feed Mill Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate feed mill equipment (mixers & batching systems) to manufacture livestock feed
• Receive, handle, and move feed ingredients, load and unload trucks
• Prepare and manage loadout, including opening hatches, attaching hoses, sampling, and ensuring accurate product delivery
• Monitor batching/scaling systems and adjust processes to maintain feed quality and production accuracy
• Perform routine equipment maintenance (greasing, inspections, minor troubleshooting) and report mechanical issues
• Maintain a clean, safe mill environment through daily housekeeping, spill cleanup, and site upkeep
• Follow all safety, quality, and compliance standards while working with the team to meet daily production targets

Requirements

• Knowledge of operations, production, manufacturing, agriculture or general labor environments
• Must meet minimum age requirement
• Ability to operate machinery such as conveyors, forklifts and electric hoists
• Working knowledge of basic computer functions
• Agriculture experience preferred
• Forklift certification preferred

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred

Skills

• Ability to work independently for extended periods of time
• Ability to spend long periods of time on your feet including walking, standing and climbing steps and ladders, and working at heights up to 120 ft
• Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs
• Ability to wear all required protective equipment may include respirators, hard hats, and eye and hearing protection
• Ability to use both automated and manual tools and equipment
• Ability to shovel, sweep, load, unload, lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs frequently
• Ability to work in noisy, dusty, and all-weather conditions
