Responsibilities
- Federal Partnership Compliance
- Lead the adoption of an insourcing model for the Federal partnership income tax compliance function.
- Create entity-specific workpapers to support the Form 1065.
- Develop an instruction guide to train and develop other staff members.
- Data Management and Administration
- Ensure all items are properly loaded and presented on the returns.
- Review federal book-to-tax adjustments.
- Assist with the preparation and review of the partnership returns (Form 1065).
- Compile taxable income information from both internal and external investments.
- Prepare and review the consolidated 1120 and provide related M3 support.
- Tax Calculations and Analysis
- Review federal tax calculations and adjustments (non-fixed asset).
- Support the tax provision process, including forecasts, tax return, return-to-provision reconciliation, and audit support.
- Calculate and support complex federal tax positions, including pension and benefits adjustments, Section 163(j), and CAMT.
- Tax Credits and Incentives
- Partner with third-party providers to complete the R&D Credit study.
- Analyze and calculate the R&D Credit using QREs.
- Prepare and ensure proper reflection of all internally-prepared federal credits in OneSource (OIT).
- State and Local Tax Compliance
- Review complex state partnership and corporate income tax returns and associated workpapers.
- Research and analyze federal tax positions.
- Provide support and IDR responses for the Federal Audit team.
- Coordination and Process Management
- Coordinate with other Senior Managers and Associate Directors.
- Develop and maintain relationships with various internal teams.
- Streamline and optimize tax processes through the use of digital finance tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 6 or more years of federal partnership income tax experience.
- Strong data management and automation skills required; experience with Alteryx, AI or other digital tools.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Significant experience with OneSource Income Tax and/or OneSource Tax Provision.
- Experience with federal tax credit, primarily with the R&D Credit.
