This role is located in LeSueur, Minnesota, known as the Valley of the Jolly Green Giant. LeSueur offers a historic downtown, diverse housing options, a strong school district, recreational fishing, apple orchards, and a welcoming community.

About the role

Primary purpose is to perform and provide work direction to Inside/Outside Crews, ensuring Standard Operating Procedures are followed and Company standards are met. Will assist the Pullet Supervisor in managing personnel, work schedules, and/or projects.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance in relation to production scheduling or volunteered time.
  • Responsible for mortality and weights in all barns; ensure weekly weights are completed on time, entered into the computer, and emailed to the LP Office.
  • Ensure House personnel follow light schedules and the SOP book.
  • Ensure barns are clean and set up chick houses.
  • Follow all Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) safety procedures and ensure all safety shields are in place.
  • Monitor temperatures and air quality multiple times throughout the day.
  • Complete and communicate mortality sheets, weight calculator sheets, and weight graphs; report unusual mortality.
  • Perform blood testing and salmonella swabbing; monitor medication as needed.
  • Optimize feed for pullet weights.
  • Monitor pox takes, mix vaccines for the outside crew, and maintain vaccinator charts.
  • Assign work schedules and duties to section personnel as needed.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality is upheld.
  • Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

No formal education or experience is required.

  • Preferred: Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $21.42 to $27.54 per hour.
