Farm Hand.

Temporary part-time position located in Etna, NH (about a ten-minute drive from Dartmouth’s main campus). All employees are responsible for their own transportation to and from the farm.

About the role

We are looking for individuals to assist with daily farm chores and the care of horses at Morton Farm. If you like doing physical work outside and enjoy being around animals, then this could be a good job for you.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and filling water buckets and tubs
• Filling and feeding hay bags
• Stacking hay and bagged shavings
• Cleaning stalls and paddocks
• Sweeping aisles and barn floors
• Operating small equipment and tools as needed
• Performing other farm tasks as assigned
• Depending on experience, operating farm equipment (tractors & RTVs) and assisting with maintenance projects

Requirements

• Previous horse or farm experience
• Willingness to learn and positive, team-oriented attitude
• Ability to work independently with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work in all types of weather, including extreme heat and cold
• Ability to lift, pull, or push up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, reach overhead and below for extended periods
• Ability to work effectively in an environment with exposure to dirt, dust, pollen, and animal hair/feather

Pay

$16.25 per hour
