Family Support Worker
Description
Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has since expanded to operate across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Thompson's continuum of care includes prevention, mental health services, and foster care, all of which are trauma-informed and evidence-based.
What will you do as a Family Support Worker?
- Provide transportation of youth to/from out-of-home care placements, to/from school, and to/from visits.
- Serve as a supervisor for parent visits.
- Manage crises and de-escalate youth and adults.
- Drive during a typical day as a Family Support Worker.

Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
- A High School diploma/GED
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite application software
- A reliable vehicle/transportation
- A valid driver’s license
- Meet any credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards as they pertain to the department

Schedule
This is a full-time hourly job. There is no on-call duty. Hours and days can vary week to week based on need. This includes daytime, nights, and weekends. No second job is permitted. Our office is located in Maitland. This role will have a hybrid schedule, sometimes working in the office, from home, or on the road transporting clients. Transporting may require traveling long distances in Florida, depending on the needs of the clients.
