About the role
At 18 Degrees, we cultivate teams and leaders to embrace the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusiveness to support the needs of our community. The Family Support Worker organizes and facilitates educational and support groups for youth and parents, provides community outreach, and assists people in accessing community resources.
Must be able to work with diverse populations, network and build relationships, and work effectively as a team member. Some Saturdays and evenings required.
Responsibilities
- Organize and facilitate educational and support groups for youth and parents
- Provide community outreach
- Assist individuals and families in accessing community resources
- Network and build relationships within the community
- Maintain accurate records using computer-based information systems
Requirements
- Knowledge of parenting skills and child development
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience working with individuals and families
- Familiarity with community resources
- Ability to work with diverse populations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 years of related experience preferred
- Minimum required experience: working with families and networking with professionals
- Relevant lived experience is desirable but not required
- Multilingual/multicultural candidates encouraged to apply
Pay
$22.35 hourly wage
