Family Support Services DSP - Full Time

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide scheduled services in community settings and/or the service recipient's home. Services may include skill development in activities of daily living, educational skill development or maintenance, communication skill development, sensory/motor skill development, adaptive behavior skill development, social skill development or maintenance, recreational activities, and/or transportation to required appointments and activities.
• Independence and growth will be promoted.
• Follow each service recipient's ISP as written.
• Attend to physical needs as required for each service recipient, including those requiring specialized training or procedures.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk; or hear.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee may be required to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
• Safety precautions are observed in order to reduce incidents of risk factors for typical office environment which are adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception.
• This job will primarily be performed inside under typical homelike conditions.
• The employee will occasionally preform the duties of this job in an office setting and in other community resource settings such as restaurants and movie theatres.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
• The employee will frequently perform the duties of this job in a car.
