Family Specialist
About the role
You belong here. Devereux Florida provides Family Preservation and Child Welfare case management services for children and families referred by the Department of Children and Families, to ensure a community without abuse, neglect or abandonment.
Responsibilities
- Help families with resources and prevent children from entering the foster care system
- Work closely with Department of Children and Families to develop a family preservation plan
- Engage the Family via family Team Meetings
- Determine needs and implement resources
- Work in conjunction with support staff to ensure necessary referrals are completed for external providers
- Complete necessary follow-ups to ensure the needs of the families served are being met
- Maintain close contact with the assigned DCF investigator to ensure adequate updates are provided as to the family’s progress throughout participation in the Family Builders Program
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social services related field required
- Three years' of experience providing direct services to at risk children and families required
- Must be able to complete a 3-day new hire orientation class via MSTeams
- Valid FL Driver's License required
- Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings which include: Drug Test and TB Test
- Successfully pass a Level 2 background screening with the State of Florida
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older

Pay
Salary: Starts at $20.25 - $23.08 / hr (rate is based on education and relevant experience). This is a position is eligible for up to a $1,000 sign-on bonus.
Schedule
Full time; Flexible schedule to accommodate families scheduled; this is NOT a 9-5 position
Location
This position is field-based position and will provide coverage in St. John county.
