About the role

Family Service Counselor – Inside Sales Representative at Carriage Services. This full‑time position supports families with funeral selections, attends services, and helps shape the future of the funeral and cemetery industry. Leads are provided via walk‑in traffic and inbound calls.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound calls and walk‑ins while proactively generating leads through external marketing and prospecting within cemetery grounds.
• Establish professional relationships with client families to ensure all needs are met.
• Represent the company in a caring, professional manner.
• Provide tours and guide families visiting cemetery locations.
• Attend services and visitations to develop relationships, ensure excellent service, and generate referrals.
• Complete required paperwork, verify interments, conduct blind checks, and ensure compliance with state and industry regulations.
• Develop new prospects and community‑based contacts.
• Make presentations at the business location, client homes, and public community events highlighting merchandise, services, and pre‑need arranging benefits.
• Maintain positive communication and cooperation with funeral homes, internal departments, and team members to ensure a smooth service process.
• Participate in all required location and company training initiatives.
• Report progress to the Sales Manager or Unit Leader as directed.
• Schedule and conduct after‑care appointments to ensure client satisfaction and obtain referrals.
• Identify and remedy hazards at the location and on the grounds.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or a college degree preferred.
• Proven track record of success in inside sales production strongly preferred.
• May require possession (or ability to obtain) an insurance license as required by applicable law.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing and an acceptable driving record.

Pay

Compensation potential includes commission and bonus with unlimited earning potential; top Family Service Counselors can earn six‑figure incomes.
