What You Will Do to Change Lives
The Family Peer Recovery Coach II engages family members and prospective participants to foster a willingness to accept available services. They provide information, education, and resources to families to help them better support their loved one in their recovery plan. This includes direct support and case management services, group facilitation, and advocacy for the participant and family.
What You Bring to the Table (Must Have)
- A High School Diploma or GED
- At least 18 years of age
- A Peer Certification obtained prior to hire and maintained throughout employment
- California Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification obtained within 120 days of hire and maintained throughout employment
- Two years or part-time equivalent of experience supporting individuals with behavioral health challenges
- One year of the two years’ experience must be working as a Certified Peer Support Specialist as defined in OAR 309-019-0105(81) (Oregon only)
- Two years’ full-time experience, or part-time equivalent, working in a mental health program serving persons with severe and persistent mental disabilities, or a bachelor’s degree with a major in psychology, social work, or behavioral sciences
- Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care
- CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification (hands-on course) on date of employment or prior to providing direct client care and maintain current certification throughout employment
- Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver
- Willingness to use your personal vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc. (weekly mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate)
- Willingness to use the company vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.
- Willingness to use your personal vehicle to attend meetings, etc. (weekly mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate)
