A multi-family office is seeking a Family Office Director to manage comprehensive tax and accounting operations for high-net-worth clients.
Responsibilities
- Review federal, state, and local tax filings across the family's entity and individual structure, including Forms 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120/1120-S, 990-PF, and international reporting.
- Oversee the full compliance calendar: filing deadlines, extensions, and quarterly estimated tax payments across all entities and jurisdictions.
- Serve as day-to-day liaison with outside tax accountants, attorneys, trustees, and investment advisors.
- Manage tax planning and projection work: estimate calculations, scenario modeling, charitable and gifting strategies, and year-end planning analysis.
- Maintain organized, audit-ready tax files and supporting documentation for all filings.
- Review monthly bank, brokerage, and custodial statements for activity; perform and review bank reconciliations across household, trust, and entity accounts.
- Review financial statements and internal reporting for accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness; investigate and resolve variances.
- Compile statements, schedules, and supporting documentation for compliance, audit, and reporting purposes.
- Manage client invoicing — preparation, review, distribution, and follow-up on outstanding items.
- Sort, log, and route incoming mail; track time-sensitive items through to resolution.
- Participate in and lead client communications — calls, email correspondence, and status updates — with family members and their broader advisory team.
- Execute concierge and special projects on behalf of the family, which may include vendor coordination, property- and asset-related administration, philanthropic and foundation support, recordkeeping build-outs, and ad hoc research and analysis.
Qualifications
- CPA or IRS Enrolled Agent
- 10+ years of tax/accounting experience
Pay
Salary: $175,000 – $200,000 + Bonus
