The Role
Win’s Innovative Programs Department is seeking a compassionate and resourceful Family Navigator to support immigrant, asylum-seeking, and migrant families through the LEAD Program. In this role, you will help families navigate complex systems, access critical resources, connect with legal services, and build stability as they establish roots in New York City.
What You Will Do
- Guide immigrant families through immigration-related processes and connect them to available benefits and resources
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to identify service needs and develop individualized service plans
- Coordinate with legal service providers and partner attorneys to support asylum-seeking and migrant families
- Identify eligible families for LEAD services and facilitate engagement through ongoing outreach and follow-up
- Advocate for clients’ needs while helping them access housing, education, employment, and community resources
- Collaborate with Case Managers, Housing Coordinators, and shelter staff to support housing stability and service delivery
- Utilize evidence-based and trauma-informed practices, including motivational interviewing and family-centered case management
- Build strong relationships with immigrant communities and maintain current knowledge of immigration-related services and best practices
Who You Will Be
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Obtain and maintain a New York State LMSW or LMHC within 90 days of hire
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and navigate the complexities of the U.S. immigration system and related services
- Be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Have experience supporting vulnerable populations, including families experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, substance use disorders, or other barriers to stability
- Possess strong technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with CARES is a plus
- Be comfortable traveling throughout the five boroughs to provide services and support to families where they are located
