About the Role

This position provides excellent customer service to clients, visitors, and staff while managing client registrations, insurance eligibility, and enrollment assistance for various health and social service programs at Tucson Indian Center.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to clients, visitors, and staff in person and over the phone, including greeting clients and addressing concerns promptly.
• Manage client pre-registration, registration, and insurance eligibility for all new clients, ensuring accuracy and timely documentation.
• Provide education, advocacy, and enrollment assistance for Medicaid, Affordable Care Act, SNAP, TANF, and other health plan options in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for enrollment activities, monitor AHCCCS enrollment status, and assist with annual eligibility renewals.
• Ensure compliance with the Title V Program, educating patients about requirements and maintaining an error rate no higher than 5% per rolling 3-month period.
• Participate in outreach activities (8 hours of non-position related outreach) and substitute for other client registration team members as needed.
• Complete reports regarding enrollment activities and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Expert knowledge of eligibility requirements and enrollment processes for AHCCCS, CMDP, Title V, SNAP, and TANF.
• Proficiency with computer-based applications (MS Office, Adobe, spreadsheets, email) and medical Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Ability to complete health plan eligibility and pre-authorizations.
• Understanding of eligibility, enrollment, and access barriers to healthcare for Native American, Hispanic, and other minority communities in Pima County.
• Knowledge of privacy and confidentiality policies and regulations.
• Ability to work with diverse ethnic groups and cultural backgrounds, with a strong understanding of Native American and Hispanic communities.
• Maintain current knowledge of public benefit programs and web-based benefit application sites.
