About the Team

ACCEL Schools is seeking a friendly, energetic, and ethical Family and Community Liaison at Case Preparatory Academy in Akron, Ohio, dedicated to providing a superior education for all students. Case Preparatory Academy is an award-winning public charter school for EK-8th grade students, serving Akron & Summit County. The school offers a STEAM-focused college prep curriculum with robust student and family support services and strong community partnerships. It features large classrooms and a school culture that promotes literacy and lifelong learning. Case Preparatory School is part of ACCEL Schools, an established network of public charter schools serving K-12 students throughout the United States since 2014.

About the Role

The Family and Community Liaison provides family outreach to increase parent and broader community involvement in the school.

Responsibilities

• Contact parents and families through phone calls, home visits, and meetings at the school
• Provide parents with clarification on school policy and procedures such as enrollment, attendance, dress code, and student conduct
• Develop written materials to be shared with families
• Facilitate communications between parents and teachers or other school staff
• Refer families to school and community resources as appropriate
• Establish and maintain community partnerships to provide services to students
• Other duties as assigned, including morning duty, dismissal duty, and lunch duty

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and web-based applications
• 2 years’ community outreach experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Understanding and ability to manage confidential information
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks

Pay

The salary range for this position is $41,000 - $44,000. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
