Fall 2026 CNA In-Training - The Alice Center

We are currently accepting applications for a CNA In-Training position in our next program session this Fall. Classes and work will require in-person attendance in Malone, New York. Class dates and times are to be determined.

About the Program

Alice Hyde Medical Center will host the course for selected participants, who will be hired as employees of Alice Hyde Medical Center at The Alice Center. Class time and clinical time are paid at minimum hourly wage. Participants agree to remain employed as a CNA at Alice Hyde Medical Center for one year after successfully completing the class and obtaining their New York State Nurse Aide Certification. Upon certification, participants will apply for an open position with The Alice Center.

Pay

Certified Nurse Aides earn a base hourly rate of $23.19 - $29.75. Additional shift differentials are available: $5.50 for evening shifts and $7.00 for night shifts.

Job Summary

Certified Nurse Aides (CNA) in The Alice Center - Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) are vital members of the healthcare team, providing essential care and support to residents under the supervision of licensed nurses. CNAs play a critical role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of residents by assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring their condition, and maintaining a compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care needs, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding, while prioritizing their privacy, dignity, and preferences.
• Provide mobility support using proper techniques and equipment to help residents with transfers, aiming to prevent falls or injuries.
• Monitor vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate, and report any significant changes to the nursing staff.
• Observe residents' physical and emotional conditions and promptly notify the nursing team of any changes in behavior, mobility, or health status.
• Assist licensed nurses with medication administration and ensure accurate documentation.
• Provide nutrition support and maintain infection control protocols.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the healthcare team, advocating for residents' rights and addressing their preferences and concerns.
• Offer emotional support, foster a compassionate environment, and collaborate with various healthcare professionals to implement care plans and achieve residents' goals.

Education

Certified Nurse Aides (CNA) at The Alice Center must have obtained (or be actively working to obtain) their High School diploma or equivalent.
