About the Program
Miller's is proud to provide free training for those interested in a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Each student is required to complete classroom training and clinical training. Upon completion, students must pass the state exam to become a Certified Nurse's Aide.
Qualifications
- Complete 36-40 hours of classroom work with a minimum score of 80% on all tests (3 attempts allowed).
- Complete 75 hours of supervised practicum in a long-term care facility, performing all required skills successfully.
- First 16 hours of practicum must be attended with the class instructor; absence during this time results in dismissal from the program.
- Demonstrate and complete all skills checklists (RCPs) during clinicals, signed by the clinical instructor or licensed nursing professional.
- Maintain a daily "clinical sign-in record" with date, hours worked, student signature, and licensed supervisor co-signature.
Requirements
- Pass a criminal background check, TB test, and physical prior to starting the course.
- Mandatory attendance to all classroom sessions to meet Indiana State Department of Health requirements.
- Adhere to facility-specific dress code requirements.
Additional Information
- Unsatisfactory performance or attendance issues may result in dismissal from the program.
- Successful completion awards a certificate, a scheduled test date, and paid test fees (first and second attempt) if hired and in good standing as an employee.
- Non-employees receive their application and certificate to schedule and pay for their own test.
