Responsibilities

  • Review the partner university’s new college programs and course approvals, develop a pipeline of potential internal candidates for upcoming courses, and manage staffing goals within specified time frames; retire course approvals as needed.
  • Lead the recruiting process to identify qualified candidates, develop and maintain pipelines, and meet staffing goals.
  • Retrieve potential candidates from internal databases and screen backgrounds by validating credentials such as education level, accreditation of degree programs, and institutions through transcripts, research, and similar methods.
  • Contact candidates via phone or other means to determine availability, interest level, confirm credentials, training availability, and other job requirements; forward qualified candidates to the appropriate college for further disposition.
  • Occasionally meet candidates in person to acquire additional qualifying information; track and maintain candidate progress through the screening and hiring process.
  • Develop strong working relationships with staff within GCE’s partner colleges.
  • Use appropriate software to create records ensuring accurate and complete information according to workflow requirements; recommend and/or create more efficient workflow processes.
  • Retrieve information from software/databases for reporting purposes and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate and/or liaise with Human Resources on requisitions, systems, on-boarding, etc.
  • Develop and maintain staffing metrics, analyze staffing needs, and provide recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with Human Resources policies, federal and state employment laws, governing bodies such as HLC and DOE, and government reporting requirements.
  • Ensure the validity and currency of existing adjunct incumbents’ credentials and assist with maintaining training rosters.
  • Stay current on trends and developments of accrediting bodies.
  • Perform other related assignments as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field (required).
  • Master’s or graduate degree (preferred).
  • Two years’ experience recruiting, interviewing, and evaluating professional-level candidates for employment.
  • Prior experience in higher education (preferred).
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be substituted with supervisor’s approval.

Skills

  • Knowledgeable of recruiting, interviewing techniques, and processes, preferably for instructors within higher education.
  • Understanding of college/university accrediting agency requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and team-oriented skills with the ability to work in a structured environment and handle difficult situations diplomatically.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including speaking before groups; detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under deadline pressure.
  • Strong technical aptitude and comfort navigating software and systems.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficient with XRM and Filebound or other database applications; familiarity with talent management software (helpful).
  • Self-starter with good organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours if necessary.
