About the role
The Office of Admissions at Iowa State University is seeking a motivated Student Recruiter II to coordinate undergraduate recruitment efforts primarily in the Houston and Austin, Texas regions. The successful candidate must reside in the Houston or Austin area and should expect occasional travel to other locations as needed. This role focuses on higher education student recruitment and outreach to support enrollment goals in a university setting. Candidates must reside in the Houston or Austin, Texas regions at the start of employment.
This is a term position with an end date of June 30, 2028, with the potential for renewal based on funding availability. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Engage with prospective students, families, school counselors, and community partners to promote Iowa State and guide students through the admissions process.
- Manage recruitment activities within your territory, including school visits, college fairs, and virtual or in-person meetings with students and families.
- Use data and outreach strategies to plan effective recruitment efforts, build strong relationships with key partners, and support students as they explore Iowa State.
- Participate in extensive seasonal travel, collaboration with campus partners, and on-campus recruitment events and training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education admissions or undergraduate student recruitment, preferably in a regional territory-based setting.
- Experience planning and executing student recruitment strategies, outreach initiatives, and enrollment-focused events (e.g., school visits, college fairs, information sessions).
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with prospective students, families, school counselors, and educational partners.
- Experience coordinating regional travel logistics, scheduling, and recruitment reporting within a structured territory.
- Experience using higher education CRM or student recruitment systems, such as Salesforce, Workday Student, Slate, Student Search, or similar platforms, to manage prospective student engagement and outreach activities.
- Experience delivering presentations and individualized advising conversations with prospective students in both in-person and virtual settings.
