Faculty Position - Oncology Department, Division of Cancer Predisposition
About the role
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking a highly motivated, faculty-level investigator (clinician scientist or clinician track) with training in hematology and oncology or clinical genetics and a strong interest and experience in hereditary predisposition to cancer.
Responsibilities
- Be housed in the Division of Cancer Predisposition, a unique Section within the Department of Oncology, dedicated to the evaluation and management of children and families at increased genetic risk for cancer.
- Participate in clinical, educational, and translational research initiatives centered around clinical germline genomics and the incorporation of germline genomic information into patient care.
- Collaborate with a team of physician-investigators, advanced practice providers, genetic counselors, and nurses to advance understanding of childhood cancers and improve treatment outcomes.
- Utilize research assistants, computational biologists, genome scientists, and other essential resources to conduct research investigations and ensure success.
Requirements
- MD, MD/PhD, or DO degree
- Board certification or Board-eligibility in clinical genetics and/or hematology-oncology (pediatric or adult)
- Expertise in hematology and oncology and/or clinical genetics with a focus on hereditary cancer
Qualifications
- Strong interest and experience in hereditary predisposition to cancer
- Ability to contribute to clinical care and research initiatives
- Experience in clinical germline genomics and its integration into patient care
Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
