Children’s Medical Center Research Institute (CRI) at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks applications for tenure-track faculty positions in metabolism research.

About the Role

Faculty recruited through this mechanism will join CRI’s Genetic and Metabolic Disease Program (GMDP), directed by Dr. Ralph DeBerardinis. Highlights of the GMDP include:

  • A robust basic research environment dedicated to understanding the genetic and metabolic basis of human disease.
  • Integration with clinical programs in genetic and metabolic diseases at Children’s Medical Center, providing outstanding opportunities for gene discovery, translational research, and therapeutic trials.
  • A state-of-the-art mass spectrometry facility dedicated to metabolomics and isotope tracing.

UT Southwestern Medical Center has a long and distinguished history of excellence in disease-related basic science research. CRI is a dynamic and highly collaborative scientific environment, with major areas of focus in cancer biology, tissue regeneration, and metabolism.

Requirements

  • Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree.
  • Ability to direct an independently funded research program.

Research Focus

Areas of particular interest include human diseases impacted by changes in cellular metabolism and mechanistic links connecting metabolism, genetics, and gene expression.
