Assistant or Associate Professor, Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) are jointly recruiting a full-time faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level without tenure due to funding (WOT) in the Clinical Research Division of Fred Hutch and the Division of Endocrinology and Nutrition at UW. Academic appointments at UW will align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30), with faculty paid for 11 months of service, allowing the equivalent of one month for paid time off.

About the Role

The selected individual will contribute to delivering outstanding clinical care and developing excellence in clinical research in endocrine neoplasia. Clinical responsibilities include outpatient and/or inpatient endocrinology service based on the candidate’s interests and institutional need. Teaching responsibilities involve clinical oversight of fellows, informal teaching sessions, and formal lectures to learners, providers, and the general medical community. The balance of time will be dedicated to research-related activities, with an expectation to obtain externally funded research (e.g., grants, clinical trials).

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care in endocrinology, including management of endocrine neoplasia.
• Perform ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration of thyroid nodules.
• Supervise and mentor clinical fellows and other learners.
• Deliver formal and informal teaching sessions to medical communities.
• Conduct and secure externally funded clinical research.

Requirements

• MD/DO degree (or foreign equivalent).
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Washington State.
• Board eligibility or certification in Endocrinology (or foreign equivalent).
• Expertise in the care and management of individuals with endocrine neoplasia.

Pay

The annual base salary range for this position is:

• $246,730 to $265,975 for Assistant Professor rank.
• $267,006 to $286,230 for Associate Professor rank.

Pay will be based on experience and qualifications. This position is eligible for relocation assistance and a sign-on bonus.
