Duties

  • Practice in the areas of OBGYN.
  • Provide excellent patient care.
  • Achieve active involvement in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Eligible for state medical license.
  • Completed an ACGME accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program.
  • Board certified/eligible in OBGYN by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

  • Deliver care through a reimagined physical footprint based on regional acute care hubs, an extensive ambulatory network, and digital care offerings.
  • Operate as a clinically integrated System that provides full-spectrum healthcare and offers easy and convenient access and a seamless end-to-end experience to patients and providers.
  • Ensure System-wide coordination enabling patients to easily access integrated, high-quality, safe, and personalized care across every site in our System, enabled by digital scheduling and navigation tools and standardized, research-informed clinical protocols.
  • Coordinate and collaborate System-wide, aligning provider roles and models, conducting applied research to impact rural population health, and integrating Peak Health to align and transform care delivery, beginning with patient loyalty, health management, and frictionless administration.

About the Chair

Brian Casey, MD, joined the WVU Medicine team in March 2024. Dr. Casey came with an extensive background in high-quality healthcare and a commitment to improving care for women in West Virginia and beyond. He previously held numerous leadership roles at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, including the vice chair of Obstetrics, division director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and assistant program director of the MFM Fellowship. Before his time in Alabama, Dr. Casey served as MFM division director, MFM fellowship director at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and chief of Obstetrics for Parkland Health and Hospital System in Texas. He also serves as an editor of Williams Obstetrics. Dr. Casey completed his fellowship in MFM at UT Southwestern/Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas and his residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. He received his medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine.
