Faculty Open Rank (Tenure) - Data Science and AI in Health Professions Education – Medical Education

About the Role
The Department of Medical Education (DME) at the University of Illinois College of Medicine invites applications and nominations for an open-rank tenure-track faculty position in the following areas: data science, quantitative methodology, psychometrics, artificial intelligence, program evaluation, or other relevant areas of health professions education.
This position carries responsibilities in research, teaching, and service in medical or health professions education (HPE). For applicants at the Associate Professor or Professor level, there are opportunities for leadership in departmental programs. Faculty members will contribute directly to the College of Medicine's education mission; maintain active and visible research programs in their area(s) of expertise that advance the field of HPE; teach and advise graduate students in the MHPE program and the Doctoral program in HPE, as well as teach in the department's certificate programs and faculty development activities.
The ideal candidate will be pursuing an academic career in Health Professions Education, with broad interests and skills within the field, depth in an area of study or methodology relevant to health professions education, demonstrated scholarship, and a track record of funding commensurate with experience. Experience in medical education or other health professions education is desirable for applicants at the Assistant Professor level and required for applicants at the Associate Professor or Professor level.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the College of Medicine's education mission
- Maintain an active and visible research program in health professions education
- Teach and advise graduate students in the MHPE and Doctoral programs in HPE
- Teach in the department's certificate programs and faculty development activities
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
Requirements
- PhD, MD, EdD, or equivalent doctoral degree
- Demonstrated scholarship and a track record of funding commensurate with experience
- Experience in teaching
- For Associate Professor or Professor level: experience in medical education or other health professions education

Pay
The budgeted salary range for the position is $90,000 to $250,000. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget constraints.
