Position Summary
The Department Of Mathematics At Texas State University Invites Applications For a Tenure-track Or Tenured Faculty Position At The Assistant, Associate, Or Professor Level In Data Science, Machine Learning, And Artificial Intelligence. The Successful Candidate Will Be Expected To Kamus & Ensiklopedia Establish and maintain a strong record of high-quality research in Data Science, Machine Learning, and/or AI.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field prior to employment.
- Evidence of or potential for research excellence in Data Science, ML, or AI.
- Potential to obtain external research funding.
- Ability to teach and mentor students and advise projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Evidence of interdisciplinary research collaboration.
Department & Research Environment
The Department of Mathematics offers strengths across Analysis, Topology, Algebra, Combinatorics, Statistics (including Data Science and Machine Learning), Applied Mathematics, Logic, and Mathematics Education. The department launched a Ph.D. program in Mathematics in Fall 2025, complementing its existing Ph.D. in Mathematics Education and master’s programs.
