About the role
The Department of Medical Education (DME) at the University of Illinois College of Medicine invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty position in data science, quantitative methodology, psychometrics, artificial intelligence, program evaluation, or other relevant areas of health professions education. This position involves responsibilities in research, teaching, and service in medical or health professions education. For applicants at the Associate Professor or Professor level, there are opportunities for leadership in departmental programs.
Faculty members will contribute to the College of Medicine's education mission, maintain active research programs in their area(s) of expertise, teach and advise graduate students in the MHPE program and the Doctoral program in Health Professions Education (HPE), and participate in certificate programs and faculty development activities.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the College of Medicine's education mission
- Maintain an active and visible research program in health professions education
- Teach and advise graduate students in the MHPE and Doctoral programs in HPE
- Teach in the department's certificate programs and faculty development activities
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
Requirements
- PhD, MD, EdD, or equivalent doctoral degree
- Demonstrated scholarship and a track record of funding commensurate with experience
- Experience in medical education or other health professions education (required for Associate Professor or Professor level, desirable for Assistant Professor level)
- Broad interests and skills within health professions education, with depth in an area of study or methodology relevant to the field
Qualifications
- Pursuing an academic career in Health Professions Education
- Specific expertise in data science, quantitative methodology, psychometrics, artificial intelligence, program evaluation, or other relevant areas of health professions education

Pay
The budgeted salary range for the position is $90,000 to $250,000. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget constraints.
