Position Overview

The Faculty of Practice, Ambulatory Care position is a non-tenure track, faculty of practice role within the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy at Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide direct patient care at the clinical practice site.
  • Deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care across a range of chronic disease states.
  • Serve as an engaged preceptor and mentor for student pharmacists.
  • Contribute to didactic teaching in both small and large classroom settings, including skills-based courses.
  • Service to the University and the pharmacy profession.
  • Academic advising for students.
  • Engage in scholarly activity consistent with the School’s mission.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
  • Pennsylvania pharmacist license (active or obtainable immediately upon hire) required.
  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 pharmacy residency required.
  • Completion of or current enrollment in an accredited PGY-2 ambulatory care residency preferred; comparable ambulatory care experience will also be considered.
  • Willingness to obtain a Pennsylvania injectable medications administration license within one year of hire is preferred.
