Faculty of Practice, Ambulatory Care
Position Overview
The Faculty of Practice, Ambulatory Care position is a non-tenure track, faculty of practice role within the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy at Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide direct patient care at the clinical practice site.
- Deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care across a range of chronic disease states.
- Serve as an engaged preceptor and mentor for student pharmacists.
- Contribute to didactic teaching in both small and large classroom settings, including skills-based courses.
- Service to the University and the pharmacy profession.
- Academic advising for students.
- Engage in scholarly activity consistent with the School’s mission.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
- Pennsylvania pharmacist license (active or obtainable immediately upon hire) required.
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 pharmacy residency required.
- Completion of or current enrollment in an accredited PGY-2 ambulatory care residency preferred; comparable ambulatory care experience will also be considered.
- Willingness to obtain a Pennsylvania injectable medications administration license within one year of hire is preferred.
