You may also have the unique opportunity to rotate exposure across our Finance, Accounting, and Controlling teams, giving you broad exposure to multiple disciplines within a corporate finance organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the tax team with ongoing compliance and tax projects (income, sales and use, property, and other related business taxes)
  • Participate in accounting, controlling, or finance projects such as closing-related responsibilities, financial statement preparation, account reviews, and product costing

Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled full-time in a Bachelor's degree program in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • Completion of sophomore year by May 2027 (junior standing entering Summer 2027)
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3
  • Foundational coursework in accounting and/or finance (introductory-level courses sufficient)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minor or coursework in Data Analytics or Information Systems
  • Familiarity with tax concepts through coursework or prior experience
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) or ERP systems (e.g., SAP)

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and with diverse individuals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel (data entry, basic formulas, formatting), PowerPoint (creating clear, professional presentations), and Word
  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and general ledger processes — introductory coursework in these areas is sufficient
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Eagerness to learn new tools and processes in a fast-paced, professional corporate environment
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

The internship opportunities at Covestro may lead to reoccurring internship opportunities and/or full-time job opportunities based on business needs, evaluation, and performance, however, there are no full-time job opportunities anticipated at this time.
