About the role

The Warehouse Facility Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance, care, and condition of the entire warehouse facility from top to bottom. This includes the interior and exterior of the building, Freon-based cooler and freezer systems, dock equipment, doors, building infrastructure, utility systems, warehouse support equipment, and all other facility assets.

This position is expected to take ownership of the facility by proactively identifying, reporting, and addressing maintenance needs to ensure the building remains safe, efficient, reliable, and properly maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of warehouse facility equipment, building systems, and racking.
  • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair loading dock equipment, including dock levelers, dock locks, truck restraints, shelters, seals, dock lights, overhead doors, high-speed doors, roll-up doors, personnel doors, and associated controls and safety devices.
  • Operate, monitor, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on Freon-based refrigeration systems serving coolers and freezers, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, fans, motors, controls, refrigerant circuits, and related equipment.
  • Monitor cooler and freezer temperatures and conduct daily inspections of refrigeration equipment, dock equipment, and facility systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility electrical systems, lighting, receptacles, switches, control panels, plumbing, carpentry, painting, concrete, and general building infrastructure.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls involving refrigeration systems, dock equipment, doors, facility systems, and other equipment failures.
  • Maintain accurate work orders, inspection reports, maintenance records, and preventive maintenance documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety programs, GMPs, SOPs, environmental requirements, and participate in ongoing technical and safety training.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in warehouse maintenance, facility maintenance, refrigeration, or industrial maintenance.
  • Experience working with cooler and freezer refrigeration systems using Freon-based refrigerants.
  • Experience maintaining dock equipment, overhead doors, conveyors, and warehouse support systems.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
  • Industrial Refrigeration or Commercial HVAC Certification.
  • OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
  • Forklift and Aerial Lift Certification.
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Training.

Working Conditions

Frequently requires standing, lifting, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, smelling, listening, speaking, and seeing to perform the essential job duties.

Work conditions vary, quitting time will vary based upon production needs, and flexibility is critical.

Temperatures range from 30 to 50 degrees in processing departments.

Exposure to potentially dangerous machinery and equipment are present in the plant.

Potential electrical, mechanical, and chemical, hazards are also present.

The noise level is high and constant.

Floors are damp and slick.

Must be able to bend, stoop, pull and lift up to 50 lbs., and to stand for long periods of time.
