Facility Technician

About the role

The Facility Technician is responsible for collecting and auditing facilities and reporting data to management based on findings. This role is critical to maintaining the quality and integrity of samples used for testing, analysis, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Must work safely at all times.
• Accurately record timekeeping in the HR management system and submit on time per payroll deadlines.
• Audit facilities to measure tank bottoms, pad, and oil.
• Collect routine and non-routine samples from facilities such as wellheads, pipelines, and tanks, and submit samples to labs for analysis.
• Identify issues and report findings regarding their impact on safety, environment, and/or production to the Water management team.
• Determine treatment plans for facilities, discuss treatment plans with the management team, and carry out approved plans.
• Generate and maintain reports for each facility regarding sample collection.
• Ensure collected samples are analyzed according to industry standards and regulations.
• Identify and resolve issues related to sample collection, analysis, or reporting.
• Ensure equipment used for sample collection and analysis is properly maintained and calibrated.
• Comply with government agency rules, regulations, and laws.
• Adhere to all Company and Water Solutions policies.
• Comply with OSHA requirements and follow all customer and NGL Water Solutions safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Regular attendance at the worksite is required.
• Work continuously to maximize oil recovery and subsequent sales.
• Evaluate and log process conditions and components.
• Report and discuss safety concerns immediately with management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to meet and maintain Company requirements for driving positions.
• Broad knowledge of oilfield operations, including pipelines, pumps, and salt water disposal facilities.
• Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills and the ability to make minor repairs.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Critical thinking skills, including the ability to compile, assess, and synthesize data.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ability to learn software and technical tools quickly.
• Efficiency and accuracy in data entry.
• Strong organizational skills.
• High initiative with the ability to work independently.
• Working knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and compliance.
• Proven ability to work overtime as necessary.
• Proven ability to represent the Company positively both internally and externally.
• Proven ability to work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and customers.
• Commitment to working safely at all times.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and meet qualifications to drive Company vehicles.
• Knowledge of sampling techniques, laboratory equipment, and analytical methods.
• Proven ability to interpret data, identify trends, and draw conclusions based on sample analysis.
• Accuracy and precision in collecting, analyzing, and documenting samples.

Experience/Education

• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• 4 years of experience working in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Travel

Frequent travel to assigned SWD locations within an assigned region. Out-of-town travel is limited. Requires the ability to travel to a variety of field locations where the environment may vary significantly within a geographic region.
