Facility Technician

About the role

This isn't a typical HVAC job chasing random service calls. Work on modern, standardized commercial kitchen facilities. Predictable environments lead to faster diagnostics and less guesswork. This role offers a mix of hands-on repair, system troubleshooting, and facility support, with opportunities to grow into Facilities or Regional leadership roles. You'll be part of a rapidly growing operation in a $100B+ industry, solving problems independently while having access to a collaborative support network including engineering and senior techs for complex escalations.

Responsibilities

• HVAC/R & Facilities Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC/R systems (WIC/R, RTUs, exhaust fans, hoods, make-up air units, DOAS systems). Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues across multiple sites. Support refrigeration and kitchen ventilation systems.
• Facility Operations Support: Conduct site inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently. Handle basic electrical and plumbing maintenance as needed. Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and warranty work.
• System Performance & Troubleshooting: Use Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor performance and diagnose issues. Provide remote troubleshooting support to onsite teams and vendors. Review reports (startup, testing, balancing) to verify system performance.
• New Site Support: Assist with new facility openings by verifying installation and system functionality. Identify issues early and coordinate corrective actions.

What your week looks like

• 70% hands-on HVAC/R maintenance & repair
• 20% troubleshooting & diagnostics (onsite + remote)
• 10% inspections, reporting, and system verification

Requirements

• 4+ years of commercial HVAC/R experience
• Experience working with rooftop units, ventilation systems, or refrigeration (WIC/F)
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between sites locally

Preferred qualifications

• HVAC Universal certification (EPA, trade school, or equivalent)
• Experience in restaurants, hospitality, or multi-site facilities
• Working knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems

Work environment & schedule

• Field-based role across the Greater xxx area
• Local travel between sites (home daily)
• Monday–Friday schedule with on-call rotation and overtime opportunities

Pay

Ranging from $32.00 - $45.00/hr + Overtime
