Facility Technician

About the role

Busch Vacuum Solutions, a leading manufacturer of vacuum pumps, compressors, and blowers for industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, food processing, metallurgy, biomedical, and material handling, is seeking an experienced Facility Technician for its manufacturing facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The technician will perform routine building maintenance across multiple trades, support preventative maintenance programs, and assist with day‑to‑day and emergency repairs, building security, grounds upkeep, and manufacturing equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the building HVAC system.
• Perform scheduled work requests for the building and grounds.
• Execute day‑to‑day repairs, emergency repairs, and preventative maintenance.
• Assist with office, furniture, and factory equipment moves.
• Serve as backup for security procedures, including building lock‑up and opening.
• Work safely at heights using a scissor lift or boom lift and operate a forklift safely.
• Order necessary materials and supplies to complete assigned tasks.
• Assist with installation and modification of building equipment systems.
• Maintain lighting systems throughout the facility.
• Remove cardboard, scrap, and debris from the building as needed.
• Assist with grounds and property maintenance.
• Provide manufacturing equipment maintenance support when required.

Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• 2 + years of HVAC experience preferred.
• 2 + years of forklift operating experience preferred.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
• Valid driver’s license that meets Busch insurance standards and must be maintained throughout employment.

Job Requirements

• Ability and willingness to pass a 10‑panel drug screen and a 7‑year criminal history check (most felonies are disqualifiers; misdemeanors considered case‑by‑case).
• Willingness to utilize all required PPE.
• Ability and willingness to travel less than 5 % domestically for training purposes.
• Ability to work off‑hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed to support facility maintenance and business needs.
• Current work authorization in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, grasping, and manual manipulation throughout the shift.
• Occasional reaching, climbing, crawling, squatting, and kneeling.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lb frequently and up to 50 lb occasionally.
• Ability to work at heights above 20 ft using an articulating lift.
• Ability to work around facility and manufacturing equipment and in areas where dust, oil, and grease may be present.
• Must be able to see and hear visual and audible alarms and wear required PPE, including safety glasses, electrical‑hazard‑rated safety footwear, hearing protection, hand protection, and personal fall protection.

Pay

Targeted compensation range: $22.00 – $27.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.

Schedule

1st shift, Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
