Facility Systems Tech - Mercy Hospital Lebanon - Full Time

About the Role

This skilled position requires advanced knowledge of boiler, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical distribution, control system maintenance and operation, plumbing, electricity, carpentry, and painting. The Facility Systems Technician operates with minimal supervision and supports small and midsize hospitals, critical access hospitals, small inpatient/outpatient facilities, and clinics. Responsibilities include operating, maintaining, and repairing various electrical/plumbing systems, movable equipment, physical plant equipment, furniture, walls, ceilings, and floors. The role ensures a safe working environment and supports an exceptional Environment of Care for Mercy.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair electrical and plumbing systems.
• Maintain and repair movable equipment and physical plant equipment.
• Perform carpentry, painting, and repairs to walls, ceilings, and floors.
• Utilize exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Prioritize work assignments and manage time and materials efficiently.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License for all Mercy locations.
• High Pressure Boiler Operator's License (Arkansas Dept. of Labor and Licensing) for Mercy Arkansas Hospitals; must be obtained within 1 year for new hires.
• Class III Boiler Operator's License (Oklahoma Dept. of Labor) for Mercy Hospital OKC; must be obtained within 90 days for new hires.
• Class C Tank Operator Training and Certification; must be achieved within 90 days of employment.
• EPA Universal Certification (40CFR, Part 82, Subpart F); must be achieved within 12 months of employment.
• Fire door maintenance training program with certificate of completion; must be completed within 90 days for new hires.
• UL fire stop training with certificate of completion; must be completed within 90 days for new hires.
• 1 to 3 years of commercial experience working with HVAC, boilers, and refrigeration equipment.

• Ability to read and understand technical manuals.
• Numerical ability for calculations related to testing, installation, measurement, estimation, and repair.
• Ability to prioritize work assignments and conceptualize finished products.
• Form perception for measuring and installing parts and equipment.
• Spatial ability to understand blueprints and specifications.
• Proficiency in computer software such as Outlook, TMS, and/or Nuvolo.
• General manual dexterity, basic math knowledge, and mechanical aptitude.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to pass both oral and written competency exams for advancement.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 2 or more years of training in a Technical or Vocational School.
• Boiler, HVAC, or Refrigeration licensure.
• Electrical and/or Plumbing licensure.
• 5 or more years of experience in a facility maintenance position within a healthcare environment.
• Training in NFPA 80 regulations for fire door inspection and maintenance.
• Training in UL standards for fire stopping.
• ASSE 6040 training for medical gas maintenance.
