Fort Sanders Health & Fitness Center, part of Covenant Health West, is Knoxville’s premier health and wellness destination. Responsibilities

• Complete daily work order assignments.
• Operate all types of construction equipment including table saws, drill press, and small hand tools.
• Perform facility maintenance tasks, including but not limited to, installing acoustical ceilings, metal stud walls, sheetrock and millwork installation, painting, lighting, facility repairs, furniture installation, window repair, minor plumbing, door frame and hardware installations, minor flooring repairs, etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment such as HVAC, boilers, etc.
• Survey facilities to find maintenance needs and set priorities.
• Assist in the care and maintenance of personally assigned tools and equipment as well as general department equipment.
• Respond to emergency requests for maintenance after normal working hours.
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and local building codes.
• Document and maintain records of all work performed.
• Local travel required.
• Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Complete required education assignments annually.
• Work toward achieving goals and objectives, and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: Any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill, and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. Preference may be given to individuals graduating from a trade or vocational school.
• Minimum Experience: One (1) year experience in building/plant maintenance operations, construction, or with a mechanical or electrical contractor, or a graduate with certification from a trade school in a maintenance-related field.
• Valid Tennessee driver’s license and state-mandated minimum insurance coverage. Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards at the date of hire and throughout employment tenure.

Full-time, 80 hours per pay period, day shift.
