About the role
The Operations Technical Advisor position within the Pit Production Operations group offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to provide pivotal leadership and technical expertise in support of operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Plans, develops, implements, and administers a variety of broad or specialized programmatic, technical, and administrative functions to directly or indirectly support operations.
- Provides mid-level guidance, work direction, oversight, and leadership to functional work groups, sections, or units within an operations or operations support capacity.
- Executes a wide range of complex, advanced, and diverse tasks in support of assigned operational areas, departments, sections, or units.
- Monitors and assesses operational developments in facility systems or equipment, ensuring safe and optimally efficient performance.
- Conducts periodic reviews and assessments to verify that facility systems are functioning correctly and maintained within required parameters.
- Maintains comprehensive awareness of scheduled or anticipated work activities that could impact facility operations within the area or shift of responsibility.
- Analyzes operational and support performance measures to identify trends, determine root causes, and develop recommendations to mitigate adverse trends and enhance positive outcomes.
- Prepares and reviews facility work packages and related work control processes to support ongoing operations.
- Facilitates the communication and understanding of new or revised technical and operational procedures, bulletins, and required reading among operators and support personnel.
- Counsels and trains operations personnel on new systems and equipment, and evaluates performance to ensure competency.
- Serves in various contingency coordinator roles to support operational readiness and response.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience within complex industrial or nuclear environments.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the assigned functional area, including specific familiarity with the supported facility, area, or location as applicable.
- In-depth understanding of relevant policies, practices, procedures, Department of Energy (DOE) orders, and regulatory requirements governing the supported function or facility.
- Strong experience in coordinating multi-organizational initiatives within a complex industrial setting.
- Engineering and/or Operations background is highly desirable.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in relevant field plus completion of applicable certification or on-the-job training plus at least five years of experience (YOE) in an applicable role, OR
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least three years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR
- Master's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE), OR
- Doctoral degree in relevant field.

- Ability to interpret and communicate programmatic, technical, or process changes to operations personnel to ensure seamless transitions and understanding.
