About the role
This Operations Support - Technical Advisor will provide Level 2 support to Level 1 Support Desk personnel and In-Room Technical Advisor (TA) staff. This task is primarily performed at Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB).
Responsibilities
- Provide organizational and intermediate level support to operations of CCS-C systems in all facilities at SSFB and Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB) at the Backup Satellite Operations Center - Vandenberg (BSOC-V)
- Resolve Mission Problem Reports (MPR) and Deficiency Reports (DR)
- Provide system administrator support
- Draft MILSATCOM Operational Requests (MORs)
- Perform installation support including maintaining critical spares and bench stock
- Conduct Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs)
- Remove and replace faulty equipment
- Restore systems to operations within contractually mandated timelines
- Maintain organizational maintenance procedures
- Manage user accounts (new and existing accounts)
- Perform file transfers as required by users
- Provide classified courier support
- Collect logs and data to support Kratos engineering
- Support all Kratos operations meetings
- Support user meetings as required
- Troubleshoot to restore operational capabilities, which may require working outside of normal business hours including weekends
Requirements
- DoD TS/SCI clearance
- Security+ Certification (required)
- 3+ years of experience supporting MILSATCOM or DoD operations
- Experience with MPR/DR processes and system issue tracking
- Basic system administration (Windows/Linux), including user account management
- Knowledge of MILSATCOM operations and drafting Operational Requests (MORs)
- Hands-on maintenance experience (PMIs, hardware replacement, system restoration)
- Familiarity with classified environments and secure data/file transfers
- Strong troubleshooting skills in time-sensitive, mission-critical settings
- Ability to manage maintenance procedures, spares, and bench stock
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic documentation practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in IT-related field (desired, but not required)
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Kratos systems, SATCOM terminals, or RF components
- Familiarity with DoD maintenance and ticketing systems (e.g., Remedy)
- Basic scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) or automation experience
- Understanding of secure system handling (NISPOM, ICD 503)
- Experience writing SOPs and supporting user/technical meetings
