Reports to: Group Manager | FLSA Status: Non-Exempt | Department: All Departments | Shift: Weekend shift - 12 hrs per day - Friday, Saturday and Sunday

About the Role

Under direct supervision, the facility support performs janitorial duties in offices, warehouses, manufacturing areas, building interiors, and building exteriors at the facility.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for the appropriate usage of cleaning equipment, performing janitorial duties, and routine maintenance on all facility interiors and exteriors contingent upon plant and facility location.
  • Manage recycling activities at the facility and assist in the disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Involved in facility beautification in terms of exterior aesthetics (e.g., shrubs, greenery, planting).
  • Performs typical maintenance tasks to support the production floor and the entire facility, including:
    • Sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming
    • Restocking cleaning supplies and bathrooms
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to appropriate plant personnel, including the direct supervisor, or inspection or quality control personnel.
  • Safety Compliance – Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while performing job tasks. Report any safety hazards or concerns to the supervisor immediately. Conforms with safety regulations per plant policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, including but not limited to:
    • Use of safety glasses, ear plugs, masks, steel-toed boots/shoes, and associated safety equipment on the plant floor
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including storage spaces. Ensure tools and equipment are safely stored after each use.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Other general duties as required by the management staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous experience working with various pieces of janitorial equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor strippers, buffer machines, and carpet/fabric shampooers
  • Basic understanding of the usage of tools
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions
  • Clear and precise communication skills and the ability to work within a team
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
  • Must be able to be trained in basic processes and equipment and serve as a hands-on resource in Production Support

  • Ability to read and comprehend basic verbal and written instructions, and read and interpret drawings, blueprints, sketches, instructions, and specifications
  • Willingness to accept and receive frequent training, supervision, and assistance from positions and supervisory personnel
  • Effective communication skills and ability to communicate with many levels of personnel effectively and tactfully in various situations and environments
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability and motivation to learn
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and fast-paced environment
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality for each assigned shift
  • Self-motivated attitude and ability to comprehend the importance and confidential nature of all information
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical examination and drug screen

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be frequently exposed to:

  • Fumes and cleaning solutions
