We are seeking a part-time Facility Operations Assistant to support the daily operation and supervision of our sports and recreation facility on the Marietta campus.
About the role
Provides direct support in the daily operation and supervision of the assigned facility. Oversees all student facility personnel, security, cash handling, risk management, equipment set-up and breakdown, and customer service operations. Serves as the primary department liaison with all facility user groups and is responsible for all decisions in the absence of full-time facility staff.
Responsibilities
- Assists with shift duties, including overseeing, delegating, and documenting the attendants working within assigned areas
- Maintains daily facility operations, security, and risk management, such as providing emergency care, performing building inspections, and reporting door issues
- Supports the operation and mission of the department/division by completing additional tasks as assigned by the Manager or Coordinator of assigned areas
- Produces reports and forms including but not limited to Shift Reports, Facility Work Orders, and Accident Reports
- Assists with the orientation and oversight of assigned students
- Assists in other program areas as assigned
- Acts as a point of contact for facility and group reservations
- Performs activity space event setup and breakdown
- Performs excellent customer service concerning departmental facilities, programs, and services
- Responds to inquiries concerning departmental facilities, programs, and services in a timely and professional manner
- Handles cash and sets up start-up cash for registers
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six (6) months of relevant work experience or at least one (1) year of student employment experience with a focus on facility management
Preferred Qualifications
- An undergraduate or advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
- Familiarity with the KSU recreation facilities, programs, and services
Skills
- Able to work opening, closing, or weekend shifts routinely
- Able to articulate and enforce all departmental policies and procedures
- Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
- Knowledge of event procedures related to ADA compliance and fire safety
- Knowledge of facility emergency action plans
- Familiar with point-of-sale procedures, producing reports, and verifying deposits
- Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills
- Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
- Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
Pay
$15.00 per hour.
