Description Duties

The Office of Financial Administration is responsible for overall agency fiscal management and administering the procurement process. As the Department carries out key initiatives to transform the way services are delivered to partner agencies and to the public, this position will play an important role in ensuring the success of these modernization efforts.

Duties

  • Counting, checking, and packaging test booklets and materials for state and local Civil Service examinations.
  • Checking prepared material against information provided on printed shipping reports.
  • Rapid preparation of secure exam materials under the supervision of an Administrative Specialist 1, involving the handling of tight shipping deadlines.
  • Regular receiving and unpackaging of test materials when shipments are received from Exam Security Designees at examination sites.
  • Sorting and preparing materials for processing by the Department’s Testing Services Division at Empire State Plaza, including stacking and storing secure materials, which involves regularly lifting boxes.
  • Disposing of records to the secure scrap contractor on a loading dock using hand trucks, carts, and pallet jacks.
  • Assembling supply requests when asked by agencies, as well as restocking shelves and reporting inventory shortages to the Administrative Specialist 1.
  • Creating answer keys for Scantron bubble sheets with the use of a drill press.
  • Clarifying delivery addresses and giving instructions to agency couriers, as needed.

Non-competitive Minimum Qualifications

  • No education or experience qualifications for this class.
  • Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions.
  • When required to operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Incumbent must possess a valid New York State driver's license.
