About the Role

The MEP IE Lead is responsible for overseeing projects related to the assigned sub-project group, focusing on either Facilities & Office/Human Services or Line Start-Up. This role ensures all project requirements are identified, specified, and completed on time and within budget, working closely with general contractors and Gradian personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Building MEP IE Lead
    • Define overall building specifications, permitting, and code requirements.
    • Ensure accessibility of the facility (roads, parking, safe access).
    • Oversee facilities security needs during and post-construction.
    • Manage internal and external structures, including design and permitting.
    • Coordinate office and enclosure planning.
    • Address energy requirements: gas, electrical, renewable energy, and high/low voltage power needs.
  • Office/Human Services Planning
    • Plan facilities requirements based on occupancy and headcount.
    • Design safe environments for employees, including travel within and outside the facility.
    • Establish required break areas and support for office and direct labor personnel.
    • Manage furniture planning, layout, supplier coordination, and budget.
  • Manufacturing Line MEP IE Lead
    • Represent facilities in line design to ensure all MEP requirements are clear and available.
    • Oversee bay preparation for manufacturing line ramp-up.
    • Collaborate with line leadership to define needs and develop MEP plans with timelines supporting start-up.
    • Provide Process FMEA support for new lines.
  • Lead all phases of assigned projects, ensuring requirements are understood and questions addressed promptly.
  • Develop and maintain project lists, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, equipment suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address schedule, cost, and quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, local building codes, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Review change orders and propose approval to the Facilities VP based on budget and building specifications.
  • Conduct project meetings and provide status updates to the Project Manager.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure the general contractor maintains an accurate project timeline and R.A.I.L.
  • Deliver assigned projects on time and within budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of project management experience or related engineering project deployment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing facility requirements, including utilities, process equipment, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and infrastructure.
