About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Facility Maintenance Manager to join our team at Rockdale Youth Academy. The ideal candidate will provide care to youth in need while managing the building and grounds.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of projects related to building and grounds maintenance
- Managing building services including maintenance, upkeep, renovation/remodeling projects, and coordination of all site safety and security activities
- Performing building inspections and taking proactive steps to ensure a safe, efficient, and presentable work environment
- Overseeing safety and security issues including fire, burglary, or building closure
- Assisting program managers in identifying maintenance issues, tracking routine maintenance, and coordinating repairs
- Tracking and maintaining facility fire and health inspections, rectifying or coordinating repairs of deficiencies noted on inspections
- Directing contractor activities for operating and maintaining facilities, equipment, and grounds
- Maintaining a high standard of role model behavior for youth
- Participating in training and development activities as required
- Reporting any acts, incidents, or conditions reflecting inappropriate youth-to-youth or staff-to-youth relationships
- Reporting any use of physical force and all unusual incidents per guidelines
- Performing other duties as assigned or needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience directly related to the essential functions of this position, with prior project management experience highly desired
- Good analytical skills, ability to communicate well, ability to foster and work within participatory management, strong organizing and planning skills, effective communication at all organizational levels, commitment to professional standards and personal development
