Facility Assistant, Janitor
Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Facility Assistant, Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly Building / Facility. Work is performed with some independence within established policies, procedures and techniques, and is subject to general or direct supervision as the work situation warrants. As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality. Associates are expected to comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain offices, cubical, conference rooms, restrooms, and or any other office space clean and in orderly fashion
- Prepare conference rooms with coffee, drinks, and or food (when required)
- Maintain Storage areas (neat and clean)
- Maintains cleanliness of exterior grounds (bay areas, lobby entrances, etc.,)
- Empty trash receptacles in the warehouse daily at a minimum
- Maintain floors daily to ensure cleanliness, no dirt and debris, obstacles and trip/slip hazards
- Post hazard information signs where needed
- Maintain materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion
Qualifications
Education & Experience: Six months experience in a similar role. Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Certificates & Licenses: Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
Language Skills: English (reading, writing, verbal).
Mathematical Skills: Basic math.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
Other Skills: Clear speaking in order to communicate effectively with vendors/customers. Must be able to read and comprehend written procedures and instructions. Able to maintain employee confidentiality.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Physical ability to lift (50lbs), bend and reach
- Methods in handling materials and equipment used in performing housekeeping duties
- Work overtime as dictated by business whether mandatory or voluntary
- Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months can range from mild to moderate
- Occasionally: Handling, Sitting

- Ability to Lift/Carry and Push/Pull 21-50 pounds
- Reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
Pay
$17–$20 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
Schedule
8am-4:30pm Mon-Fri (Part Time)
