Job Summary

A Facility and Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping the facility and production equipment operating, repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. This role performs regular preventive/reactive maintenance on equipment and the facility.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Installing/troubleshooting/repairing production equipment and maintenance on the facility with an overall objective of increasing business success.
  • Safely performing all assigned work by upholding the Environmental, Health and Safety Policy.
  • Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, repairing windows, door or wall repair, and changing light bulbs.
  • Performing troubleshooting and repair of production related equipment (Arburgs, Makino, EDMs, Grinders, Chillers).
  • Completing routine maintenance of all equipment used in the facility (production equipment, compressors, chillers, water tower).
  • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures, address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems.
  • Maintaining the building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly.
  • Groundskeeping the facility lawns or other outdoor areas in need of maintenance.
  • Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked.
  • Demonstrating innovation to notice problems and find solutions to fix them.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of mechanical maintenance processes.
  • Critical thinking ability to troubleshoot and detect malfunctioning equipment.
  • Possess the discipline to execute tasks without procrastination.
  • Good time management to work at a good pace, executing work orders.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working in and around the building.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with employees of the building in a pleasant manner.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years’ experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing production equipment and facility repairs.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Proven track record of maintaining Injection molding machines, Mills, EDMs, preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing at a machine.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Visual acuity for inspections, color differentiation, reading electronic documentation.
  • Exposure to high noise levels in the work environment requiring hearing protection.
  • Exposure to all weather conditions.
